Deities & Powers
Each horse in Amphora must follow a god(dess). Depending on which god(dess) they follow, they may have certain powers or abilities. The deity that a horse follows has nothing to do with whatever alliance he/she is, but you won't usually find a follower of Hades being a light. The only exception would probably be if the horse was a result of a force, and the forcer was a Hades horse. This is because when a horse is born from two Amphora horses, he/she takes after his/her sire's deity. Below is a listing of all the available god/goddesses to follow and what powers may be found with whatever god/goddess was chosen.Aphrodite Aphrodite was the goddess of love and beauty. Followers of Aphrodite are extremely beautiful/handsome and seductive. The dark stallions that follow Aphrodite may become forcers and collect pretty mares, while Aphrodite mares may purposely seek out stallions to tease and play with them.
Apollo Apollo is the god of sun and light, music, healing, prophecy, and poetry. It is rare to find a dark follower of Apollo. Followers of Apollo are able to control and create light as well as possessing prophetic and healing powers. Their voices can be very sweet and are apt to singing.
Ares Ares was the god of war, vengeance, and anger. Followers of Ares are easily irritated and angered, and constantly seek revenge. They are very strong and are skilled in battle. They have the ability to cause others around them to become suddenly mad, angry, or seek revenge, if skilled enough.
Artemis Artemis was the goddess of hunting, archery, and the moon, as well as being the maiden goddess. Followers of Artemis may never take on a mate and may never mate. If unfortune happens to befall them and the mare gets forced, Artemis shall turn her back on them and force them to choose a different deity to follow. Followers of Artemis are great trackers and extremely silent and stealthy, excelling in stealth and agility in battle. They have a special connection with wild creatures and may summon white or silver-hued ones if experienced enough. In addition, they can manipulate moonlight in various ways as well as snow.
Athena Athena was the goddess of wisdom, crafts, and defensive warfare. Followers of Athena are very wise and have prowess in battle. It is rare that they will make an unwise move and each is thought out. They are able to think up of plans in split seconds, making them very hard to defeat in battle.
Demeter Demeter was the goddess of agriculture, grain, harvest, and earth. Followers of Demeter have a special connection with nature. They are able to manipulate plants to make them grow faster or slower, as well as making them grow in various ways to become a trap, barricade, weapon, or various other things.
Dionysus Dionysus was the god of wine and social gatherings. Followers of Dionysus take a particular liking to grapes, and have the ability to make others go mad with lust or simply go crazy, almost seeming to make them get incurably drunk. They can also manipulate grapes and grape vines into growing in various ways, to form a weapon, barricade, or other form.
Hades Hades was the god of the underworld, the dead, and the various riches that can be found beneath the surface of the earth. Followers of Hades are generally dark, and can control all the fearsome monsters that once ran wild in the olden days. In addition, they can easily cause death by burning, causing the earth to open up and 'swallow' their opponent for several moments, as well as other gruesome ways.
Hephaestus Hephaestus was the god of fire and the forge. Followers of Hephaestus are able to manipulate, control, create, and put out fire. They are also able to withstand very high temperatures and are not vulnerable to the cold, either, with a higher body temperature than the normal equine.
Hera Hera was the goddess of marriage, family, and motherhood. She was also very jealous of Zeus' various other wives. Followers of Hera are very caring to their kin, but are prone to be very jealous, especially when they have loves who mate with others as well.
Hermes Hermes was the god of travel, thieves, and commerce. Followers of Hermes are generally very stealthy in battle, as well as excelling in stealing.
Poseidon Poseidon was the god of the sea, horses, and earthquakes. Followers of Poseidon have various abilities. One is that they can control storms and clouds, as well as create and manipulate water. In a battle, water can easily refresh them and make them stronger. They are strong swimmers, and a few horses may also be able to transform into Hippocampi, half-horse half-fish creatures. In the water, followers of Poseidon can breathe underwater, whether they are Hippocampi or not. Poseidon being the god of earthquakes, followers of Poseidon are also able to cause earthquakes.
Zeus Zeus was the god of the sky, thunder, and lightning. Followers of Zeus are able to control the weather over land, as well as will lightning bolts to shoot out of the sky at will. They can also manipulate various forms of energy (electricity). Zeus being the god of the sky, followers of Zeus may also sprout wings at will, or permanently have wings and be able to fly.
