I know favor, whatever-else-it-is and wisdom play roles in battle, but how do you earn them? Also, how did you put them there (curious admin over here)? Is it 'user notes'?

I was digging around in the ProBoards support, looking for codes. XD It's one of the 'Money Hack' codes in the main code directory.
You earn them by posting in character. I've made it so that post counts only count in the IC boards.

Hm. How you've set it so you only get money for IC posts... is it by disabling post counts on all other forums?

Yes, you disable post counts in the boards that don't count for money.
