Tirith galloped smoothly into the land known as Kerkyra. The wind blew back past his elegant head as he sped past. The forest became more dense and he was forced to slow down.
Looking around him, he saw how lovely this land was. He shook the water off him from the swim to get here. He had been curious about the lands here and had come to see what lay beyond the shores of this remote island.
Tirith walked forward, looking about him as he passed through the trees. The forest slowly melded into a large, green clearing in the middle of the island. He broke into a trot over to a small pool that lay at the far end. Stopping to drink, he thought about how much that he would like to have this land as his home.
Well, why not. I could claim this land as my own...
He lifted his head from the cool water and looked up at the darkening skies above.
"I claim this land, Kerkyra as my home!" He reared up and screamed out his proclamation to the night. Stars began to show through the vast blackness above and he was forced to retire for the night. He headed over to stand near a tree and sleep...

Another horse, oblivious to presence of another horse on the island, Tirith, swam up onto shore, exausted. The horse shook it's coat to get the water off, but that took the rest of the horse's energy. The horse, already in pain of the long swim, fell to the ground followed by a sickening screech: "AHHHHHHHHH!". The horse's screech had awaken Tirith. He shot his head up in wonder. "What the?"He whispered. The horse's cry carried all over the island. Tirith walked around, ready to fight if it was another stallion. When he reached the shore, he saw the horse lying on the cold sand, frozen half to death. Tirith had to think of something, something thta would get this mare warm again. She was frozen that much because she couldn't shake off enough, too much water was still on her. Tirith lied beside the gorgous mare, real close to get her body trying his best to get her warm again, he fell asleep next to her, but came morning, she was gone. Tirith thought the mare was drug away by scavengers. He anxiously looked around the island, he looked at the one place he least excepted last, the watering hole in the center of the island. He asked her how she was feeling, and he was answered with the voice of an angel: "I'm feeling fine. Thanks to you.", She gave him a cute smile, "What is your name? I'm very curious, my name is Dark Night. I was injured on my way here. I was in the middle of the journey here when a whale came up and slashed a wave, I was carried down under water where a shark came and nearly broke my leg. He just barely missed, but he twisted it in a way that I can't move it without lots of pain. So I again thank you. And to return the favor, I will go to get another territory else where if you don't want me here." Dark said. Tirith looked at her like she was crazy. "My name is Tirith, I rule this island." He said.
